Biosphere Regions and Sustainable Development
There are many examples of sustainable development happening at the local BR site level.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We pair our spirit of community with the power of a global presence to bring more people together for a shared understanding of sustainable development and biodiversity conservation.
BRs use the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to guide local action and advance Agenda 2030: a global action plan to reduce poverty, increase prosperity and shift our trajectory towards a sustainable future for our people and planet. All 17 SDG goals are interlinked, and when taken together, have the potential to empower BRs engage in a whole of society, leave no one behind approach.

Sustainable development or work on the SDGs can take many forms.
